Racing
Background:
Nathan started racing at the age of 17 in 1995.
His first race was at Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue
Ridge, GA, where he managed a 5th place finish.
Nathan spent the first 6 years of his racing career
in the Hobby class. Parris
scored many top five finishes as well as acquiring a pair of
Heat wins, and a 2nd place finish in a
Championship race held at Sugar Creek Raceway.
In 2000, Nathan went to Dixie Speedway to compete in
the Street Stock World Championship.
He qualified 4th out of a field of more
than 30 cars and came across the finish line in 5th
place. The
finish was thrown out after Parris crossed the scales only a
few pounds shy of the limit due to excess fuel burn-off, but
he still considers it one of his best races.
2001
marked the first season for Nathan Parris in the Super Late
Model division. Despite
a huge jump (2 classes) Parris was able to score a handful
of top five finishes and a 14th place showing in
the final points standings at Sugar Creek Raceway.
